About Ibogaine Treatment MX
A clinic built around the question every family asks first: who is in the room?
Most ibogaine websites answer with a beach photo. We answer with a licensed facility in Mexico City, a cardiologist who reads your EKG before you fly, a physician and a nurse in the room for every session, and a hospital 9 minutes away under a written agreement. This page is about why we set it up that way.

Why we exist
The people who pay for this treatment were being treated as leads.

Michael Vale, founder
Michael Vale spent 7 years watching how addiction-treatment enquiries are bought and sold. He saw the same parent’s message sold to 3 clinics at once. He saw families asked for a wire transfer before anyone had looked at a heart trace. He saw “medical supervision” that meant a nurse on call in another building, and he saw clinics decline to say who would be present during dosing because the honest answer was nobody with the right training.
None of that is unusual in this industry. That is the problem.
In 2026 he founded Ibogaine Treatment MX with a narrow brief: build the clinic a parent would choose at midnight if every page told the truth. Put the medical detail on the first screen. Name the physicians to the family, with a cédula profesional they can look up. Screen before money changes hands, and refund the deposit if the answer is no. Pick the city for its hospitals, not its beaches.
“A clinic that will not tell you who is in the room is telling you something. We decided to say it out loud, in writing, before anyone pays.” Michael Vale
The result is a small clinic that does one treatment, declines more cases than it accepts, and publishes no success rate because it cannot prove one. If that sounds cautious, it is. Ibogaine carries real cardiac risk, and caution is the only honest posture.
6 things we refuse to do
The rules are the clinic. Everything else is furniture.
Each of these costs us patients. Each of them is also the reason a family can trust the rest of this website.
We do not take payment before screening.
A deposit is requested only after a physician has said yes on paper. If we later decline you, at arrival or on the repeat EKG, the deposit comes back in full.
We do not dose against the numbers.
QTc, potassium, magnesium and the liver panel have written thresholds. If a value is outside them, dosing waits or is declined. A patient being angry about it does not change the value.
We do not hide who is present.
Every clinician on your case is named to you with specialty and cédula profesional before you pay, so you can check the SEP registry yourself.
We do not publish a success rate.
Nobody in this field can prove one to a standard we would accept, so we do not print one. What we can show you is the protocol, the monitoring and the 90 days after.
We do not pay for referrals.
No fee goes to anyone who sends you here. Nobody is paid to recommend us, and we do not buy enquiries from lead sellers.
We do not treat everything.
Opioid, alcohol and stimulant dependence, with one protocol. If your situation needs something we do not do, we say so on the first call and point you elsewhere.
How a decision gets made here
3 answers a physician can give you, and what each one means.
Screening is not a formality on the way to a booking. It is a decision with 3 possible outcomes, and 2 of them are not a yes.
The EKG and labs meet the thresholds.
You receive a written yes, an itemised price, the refund policy and a date. The emergency physician signs the decision. The cardiologist has read the trace. Only now is a deposit requested.
Something has to be corrected first.
Low potassium, a medication that needs a planned washout, a liver value that has to come down. We tell you what, we help you plan it with your prescriber at home, and we screen again. Nothing is billed while you wait.
The risk is not one we will take.
A conduction problem, a cardiac history that our protocol cannot cover, a combination we will not dose. You get the reason in plain language and, where we can, a referral to a US clinician near you. Any deposit is refunded in full.
The same 3 outcomes apply on arrival. A repeat EKG and labs on day 1 can turn a yes into a not yet or a no. Families sometimes find that hard to hear after a flight. We would rather have that conversation than the other one.
Who does what
5 roles, and the moment each one is responsible for.
Names and cédula numbers go to you in writing at screening. What we can say publicly is what each person is accountable for, and when.
Before travel · Day 1 · Day 3
Cardiologist, medical director
Reads every EKG, sets the thresholds, is in the room for dosing.
Day 1 · Day 3
Emergency physician
Signs the go or no-go, runs the hospital transfer protocol, holds the crash cart.
Before travel · Day 8 to 90
Psychiatrist
Plans opioid washouts with your prescriber, leads the 90-day follow-up.
Day 1 to 7, around the clock
ACLS-trained nurse
On site for the full stay, not on call. Monitoring through the session and overnight.
First call · Day 90
Coordinator
One named person from your first message to the day-90 call. Families talk to the same voice throughout.
The facility
A licensed medical facility in a city with real hospitals.
COFEPRIS-licensed, with continuous monitoring, private rooms, family visiting hours and a private hospital 9 minutes away under a written transfer agreement. Mexico City was chosen for that last sentence, not for the view.

What you receive in writing
6 documents, all of them before you pay.
If a clinic cannot send you these, ask why. If we cannot, we have not finished screening you.
The screening decision, signed
Yes, not yet or no, with the reason in plain language.
Your physicians, named
Specialty and cédula profesional for every clinician on your case.
The itemised price
One figure for the 7-day program, with what is and is not included.
The refund policy
Deposit back in full if we decline you at any point, including on arrival.
The hospital transfer agreement
Shown on request, so “9 minutes” is a document and not a slogan.
The pre-travel checklist
EKG, labs, medication list, washout plan, flight and arrival details.

3 questions on the contact page. A physician or nurse, not a salesperson, calls you back within 1 business day. Most of the people who write to us are a parent or partner.
