What 5 Rosarito clinic websites publish, and what they leave out

We read the main page of 5 Rosarito-area ibogaine clinics on October 20, 2026. None published a QTc cutoff, a dose in mg/kg, the hours of continuous heart monitoring, or the hospital they would use in an emergency.

Clinics A to E are Rosarito-area ibogaine clinics, unnamed on purpose. We checked the page Google ranks for each clinic name.

  • 1 of 5 guarantees results on its main page. Treat any outcome guarantee as a reason to leave.
  • 1 of 5 bundles ibogaine with kambo, bufo and ayahuasca in a 14-day program. Ask how each one is screened.
  • 2 of 5 name their physicians, 3 at 1 clinic and 2 at another, with no cédula numbers. 1 more names its directors, with no medical credentials.
  • 1 of 5 says plainly that ibogaine has real risks, mainly to the heart. The other 4 pages don’t.

How we checked: we read the page a buyer lands on, the way a buyer would. A clinic may publish more on other pages, so ask for it in writing. We’ll repeat this check in January 2027.

Rosarito in 2026

The advisory, the drive and the border, in plain numbers

Rosarito is in Baja California, which the U.S. State Department rates Level 3, “Reconsider travel,” for terrorism, crime and kidnapping. That’s the advisory issued May 29, 2026. Mexico City is Level 2.

Baja California, including Rosarito

Level 3 of 4: Reconsider travel

Mexico City, where we are

Level 2 of 4: Exercise increased caution

The Baja section has 2 lines worth reading before you book. “U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents have been victims of kidnapping.” And “Travelers should remain on main highways and avoid remote locations.”

It also lists no extra restrictions for U.S. government employees in Rosarito. The only restricted zone in the state is the Mexicali Valley. Read the full advisory.

  2. San Ysidro crossingThe wait is the variable, and northbound runs longer
  3. Playas de Rosarito1 clinic site quotes about 25 minutes from Tijuana
  • Take the toll road, in daylight

The advisory tells travelers in Mexico to use roads marked “D” (cuota) and to drive between cities only during the day. Rosarito sits on Highway 1D, the Scenic Road from Tijuana.

  • Count the days

You need an FMM. Land stays of 7 days or less are free. Longer stays pay 983 pesos in 2026, and a 7-night program is 8 days in Mexico. A committee in Mexico’s Congress has backed 1,158 pesos for 2027, pending a final vote.

  • Plan the drive home

Medical Fast Lane passes go through accredited doctors, at an official 420 pesos according to Tijuana’s economic development office. In August 2026, Zeta Tijuana reported passes offered for $60 to $80. Get yours through the clinic, not from someone at the line.

Tick a question once a clinic answers it in writing.

  1. Our answer

A cardiologist, an emergency physician and an ACLS-trained nurse, 1 nurse to 1 patient. Names and cédulas in writing, in your screening pack.

  2. Our answer

Our cardiologist reads it, against a written threshold you’re told before you pay. Stimulant use gets a lower threshold.

  3. Our answer

1 supervised dose on day 3 of 7, at the dose our physician sets for your case.

  4. Our answer

Continuous 12-lead ECG and pulse oximetry from before the dose, through the session and overnight, then a morning EKG every day until discharge.

  5. Our answer

A named private hospital 9 minutes away. The written agreement is in your screening pack.

  6. Our answer

An aviso de funcionamiento, with our emergency physician as responsable sanitario. We’re in Mexico City, so Repssabi doesn’t apply to us.

  7. Our answer

Ask for our count on your screening call, in writing.

  8. Our answer

$12,500 covers 7 days. If a “not yet” on arrival extends your stay, only the extra nights are billed, at the nightly rate on your quote.

  9. Our answer

Our psychiatrist, at days 45, 60 and 90. Your coordinator calls every week until day 30.

The FDA’s proposed trial design, beside the Rosarito sites and our protocol

On October 6, 2026, the FDA asked for public comment on how U.S. ibogaine trials should be run (docket FDA-2026-N-10429, comments close November 20, 2026). It doesn’t approve ibogaine or set rules for clinics. It does give you a concrete list to hold any clinic against.

Fentanyl in Baja

Fentanyl means a longer wait, and Baja providers changed their rules in 2026

Fentanyl clears on its own schedule, and street supply carries adulterants ibogaine doesn’t treat. Dosing too early risks withdrawal on the day the heart is under the most strain.

On January 21, 2026, a Tijuana-area provider disclosed a patient death in its detox program. It named changing adulterants in street fentanyl as a heightened risk, lengthened detox stays and set a 21-day minimum stay for anyone using fentanyl.

The death and the adulterant warning were reported by Psychedelics Today on February 2, 2026, which notes the cause of death hasn’t been made public. The 21-day minimum is in the provider’s own statement.

In the 2026 preprint covered below, 3 of the 6 patients who died were being treated for fentanyl use.

We don’t publish a fixed number of days. Our physician sets your washout in writing before any deposit. It’s based on how long, how often and by what route you’ve used, and what else is in your supply.

If you use during the window, tell us and the date moves, with no penalty. Whatever clinic you choose, don’t push for a shorter wait.

The 2026 safety data

6 deaths in 19,071 patients, and what that number leaves out

A 2026 preprint counted 6 deaths within 72 hours among 19,071 patients at 11 clinics, from 1996 to 2026. That’s 0.03%, or about 1 in 3,180. All 6 were being treated for opioid use.

  • 1 in 3,1806 deaths within 72 hours among 19,071 patients
  • 0.06%6 of 10,382 patients treated for opioid use
  • 0 of 8,689patients treated for other reasons
  • Not peer reviewed
  • Clinics reported their own deaths
  • 1 co-author holds equity in clinic companies
  • Its counts don’t reconcile in 2 places

The same paper counts 48 reported ibogaine deaths worldwide from 1990 to 2026. 13 were in Mexico, more than any other country. Read the preprint posted June 17, 2026.

  • Mexico 13
  • All other countries 35

Older data points the same way. A 2012 forensic review of 19 deaths from 1990 to 2008 found pre-existing disease, mainly cardiovascular, or commonly abused drugs behind 12 of the 14 deaths with adequate postmortem data.

That’s the case for screening hard before anyone doses. And for addiction itself, no large randomized trial has shown that ibogaine works.

How it works

Your 7 days in Mexico City, and the 90 after

The first 2 steps happen before you buy a flight. Any step can end in a no, and nothing is charged before a physician says yes in writing.

  1. Before travel

    Screening on paper

A 12-lead EKG, potassium, magnesium and a liver panel, ordered near your home. Our cardiologist reads them.

  2. Before travel

    Washout planned

Suboxone, methadone and SSRIs are tapered with your prescriber. No dose until it’s done.

  3. Days 1 to 2

    Arrival, go or no-go

A driver meets you at MEX Terminal 1. Repeat EKG and labs. If a number moved, the dose waits.

  4. Day 3

    The dose

Cardiologist, emergency physician and ACLS nurse in the room. Crash cart and oxygen at the bedside.

  5. Days 4 to 7

    Telemetry and recovery

Continuous ECG, a morning EKG and daily rounds. A written summary for your doctor at home.

  6. Days 8 to 90

    Follow-up

Weekly calls to day 30, then days 45, 60 and 90. A list of U.S. clinicians near you.

FAQ

Questions about ibogaine treatment in Playas de Rosarito

Short answers. Anything else, ask on the call.

Is Ibogaine Treatment MX in Rosarito?

No. Our facility is in Mexico City, 9 minutes from a private hospital under a written transfer agreement. This page is for people comparing Rosarito clinics.

Is ibogaine legal in Mexico?

It’s unregulated. Ibogaine isn’t on the psychotropic list in article 245 of Mexico’s General Health Law, last amended January 15, 2026, and it isn’t an approved medicine there either. In the U.S. it’s Schedule I.

Where can I legally take ibogaine?

In the U.S., only inside an authorized clinical trial. Texas is funding $50 million in ibogaine trials. In Mexico, ibogaine isn’t on the controlled-substance lists, so clinics can operate there.

How much does ibogaine treatment cost in Rosarito?

Only 1 of the 5 Rosarito clinic pages we checked showed a price: $11,500 for 14 days. Ours is $12,500 for 7 days, all-inclusive. Ask every clinic for an itemized quote, including the cost of an extra night.

Is Rosarito safe to travel to for treatment?

Rosarito is in Baja California, rated Level 3, “Reconsider travel,” on the U.S. advisory issued May 29, 2026. U.S. government employees face no extra restrictions there. The advisory says to stay on main highways and avoid remote locations.

Do I need an FMM for a Rosarito clinic?

Yes. An FMM is required. Land stays of 7 days or less are free. Longer stays pay 983 pesos in 2026, and a 7-night program means 8 days in Mexico.

How do I check a Rosarito clinic’s permit?

Ask for its aviso de funcionamiento or sanitary authorization, the name and cédula of its responsable sanitario, and whether it’s in Baja California’s state registry of health providers, which includes Repssabi. That registry showed about 254 providers in May 2026, while it was being updated.

How long is the wait before dosing if I’ve used fentanyl?

Our physician sets your washout in writing before any deposit, based on your pattern of use. At least 1 Tijuana-area provider now requires a 21-day minimum stay for anyone using fentanyl.

Can my family come?

Yes. Family can join the screening call, visit the facility before you decide, come during daily visiting hours and take part in the 90 days of follow-up.
